Sabriyya

Sabriyya was an elven warrior who wielded dual swords with devastating efficacy. She worked as a dragon slayer in Mars’ Oasis and was a powerful aid in the initial steps of the Rebellion in Xoria against the dragovinians. During her work in the Rebellion she became friends with Tagenadi. This connection brought her into the Alliance when Tagenadi joined, but she left after her companion became an undead. Sabriyya returned to her position as a master in the Dragon Slayer’s Guild of Mars’ Oasis.

Sabriyya grew up in Valor’s Forest hearing stories about Galandir‘s great adventures against the gith and their blue dragons. She sought to emulate and learn from Galandir’s example. When she was of age, Sabriyya attended classes at Galandir and Tereman‘s gish dojo. Unlike her hero, Sabriyya chose to embrace the two sword fighting style. She turned away from the art of weaving magic and blade together and focused entirely on how to most effectively butcher the vilest things in the world, dragons and undead.

Sabriyya traveled to where her skills could be most useful, Mars’ Oasis. The city was under constant threat of attack from formian ants, undead, and blue dragons. Sabriyya cared little for the formians, but the dragons and undead would be her bread and butter. She joined the Dragon Slayer’s Guild in Mars’ Oasis and swiftly rose within the organization. She was soon leading raids of her own as a master of the guild.

When the dragovinians rose in Xoria Sabriyya saw it as her duty to oppose them. She left Mars’ Oasis with other members of the Dragon Slayer’s Guild to join and assist the Rebellion within Xoria. It was during this time that Sabriyya met Tagenadi and formed a strong friendship with him. Together they fought Dragoviniysm. They achieved no significant victories during their time in the Rebellion, but the organization was better off with their help.

After some time with the Rebels, Sabriyya missed her home in Mars’ Oasis. She returned and rested for a while. During her vacation Tagenadi sought his old companion out. He wanted her help for the Alliance’s away team working on special assignments for the Alliance. Sabriyya agreed and joined the Alliance. She participated in the Petar Prison break, the initial raid on the Lich Shade, the recovery of the Rock of Prometheus, and the exploration of the Silver Tower in Crux.

Sabriyya chose to leave Tagenadi after he accidentally made a pact with Hades to return from the Underworld. As an undead his existence was now abhorrent to his elf friend. Sabriyya tried to forgive Tagenadi for his mistakes, but when he started making more deals with undead entities the bile rose in her throat. Sabriyya left Tagenadi and returned to her position as master in the Dragon Slayer’s Guild. Her connections to the Alliance remained, weak as they were. When Tagenadi participated in the execution of the Bane, Sabriyya arranged a meeting with King Mero III to present the proof. She also attended Amalius’s wedding. After the Second Alliance War concluded she continued to practice her dragon slaying profession to rid the Shacklack Desert of the blue menace.

Welcome to the GoCorral website! I’m Isaac Shaker and this is a place for me to write about D&D and occasionally other topics. I host a podcast called Setting the Stage that interviews different DMs about their campaigns. I’m currently focused on completing the Cimmeria campaign setting and turning it into a book.

87 – Adapted Azeroth D&D (Flare and Akridon) Setting the Stage, Campaigns for D&D and Other RPGs

Flare talks with us about his campaign world, Akridon. Three continents dominate the world, Tyros for humanoid races and Dusklands for bestial races. The third continent is known as the Scourge, having being destroyed in a cataclysmic war centuries ago. The world draws a lot of inspiration from the World of Warcraft setup with duality featuring in the continents, the racial appearance, and the gods of the world. And just like in WoW, the two sides often need to team up against larger threats that appear.Flare has a Google Doc with more information about Akridon if you're interested!Vote in the CRIT Awards!
