Reggy

Reggy was a simple human miner until his mining town was destroyed by a giant. He survived, but slavers came through the rubble and captured him. They took Reggy downriver and sold him to a passing group of travelers, Gregor, Korjak, Sivridm, Stanton, and Wu. He joined on their adventures, fighting alongside them until he’d earned his freedom. Unfortunately, soon afterwards he was slain by a demon. The group pooled their resources and reincarnated Reggy as a centaur.

Reggy grew up in an abusive family of Xorian villagers. He ran away from home as a teenager and lived on the street, stealing to survive. Eventually he heard of the mining settlement of Jevanicia. He headed there to make a fortune for himself with the plan of purchasing property after he’d earned a nest egg from the back-breaking mining work.

Reggy worked in the mine for a few years until Jevanicia was destroyed by the rampage of Bill the geriviar. Reggy survived in the ruins of the town caring for his injured friends. Soon, slavers came and put Reggy in chains. He was taken downriver and sold to Gregor, Korjak, Sivirdm, Stanton, and Wu as they passed by.

The crew of Rebels became like a new family for Reggy. His good humor made him an almost equal companion with them. He helped with camp chores, but also with fighting during their adventures which gained him their respect as well. The group agreed to split their treasure with Reggy after a big find. This allowed him to buy his freedom. Feeling happy with the life they were leading, Reggy elected to continue to adventure with them of his own free will.

Sadly, Reggy’s next adventure would lead to his death. After uncovering the final piece of the Druid’s Prophecy the Rebel group was attacked by the Dahak monster. Reggy fought alongside the god, Baldr, to defeat the monster but failed. He was slain in the combat. After the Dahak left, the others retrieved Reggy’s body. They brought his preserved corpse back to civilization and reincarnated him as he’d wished. The magic returned Reggy to life in the body of a centaur.

Gregor, Sivirdm, and Korjak left the Rebellion and Reggy went along with them. Unfortunately, their travels east led through the wetlands of Demeter’s Garden. Reggy’s new equine form could not follow easily. Rather than slow them down, Reggy chose to go his own way. He bid farewell to his friends and went west to Makotako. He opened a combination farrier and boxing gym with the funds from his adventuring where he lives a peaceful, happy life.

84 – Horseback Riding D&D Camp (Michael and SaddleSnaps) Setting the Stage, Campaigns for D&D and Other RPGs

Michael tells us about a D&D horseback riding experience at SaddleSnaps! The Chicago-based stable hosted a weekend camping, horseback riding, and D&D event. About 50 players came from across the country for this new experience. During the event, the players were split up into three groups. Each of the groups engaged in the "Exploration" and "Social Interaction" pillars of RPGs as a LARP. They used horses to go out on rides around the area to find clues to a developing mystery. After returning to their base camp they'd set up around tables for the D&D "Combat" pillar. Michael was the main DM of the adventure along with lots of support DMs and NPC actors helping him out.SaddleSnaps is planning to do more rides like this in the future, both single day rides as well as full weekend campouts like this first one. There are evening rides every Thursday for the rest of July 2026 with more to come in future months. You can check out everything about SaddleSnaps on their website.Michael has his own website for his RPG resources called Paragon Provisions that you can check out as well.Michael also runs his own Discord server that you connect with him on if you'd like to keep up with all the cool D&D stuff he's doing.Check out the Setting the Stage website!Want to be on the show?
