Hermes is the son of Maia and Zeus. He is the god of exchange, commerce, thieving, messages, shepherds, cowherds, orators, travel, and athletics. His sacred animal is the lamb. He invented most sports the Cimmerians compete in and the lyre. He escorts the dead to their afterlife. He has a winged helmet and winged sandals that allow him to be anywhere in an instant. He also has a caduceus which provides him sacred protection when delivering a message. Hermes is a trickster god and is often helping another god get away with something they shouldn’t be. Hermes is the father of Pan, but does not have a wife.

Within Cimmeria Hermes has been content to wander in disguise with a few exceptions. During the Age of Monsters, Hermes provided guidance to Jovy and in return Jovy named Hermes as the patron god of Lordodo. In the Second Alliance War Hermes orchestrated the destruction of Greshendale by the Second Alliance Exiles. In retaliation the Xorians destroyed Bradel Fields. Hermes also participated in the Battle of Nox. He seems to bring destruction and chaos to whatever he touches in Cimmeria. Despite this reputation Hermes’s face remains plastered on border marking Herms throughout the land.

I’m Isaac

Welcome to the GoCorral website! I’m Isaac Shaker and this is a place for me to write about D&D and occasionally other topics. I host a podcast called Setting the Stage that interviews different DMs about their campaigns. I’m currently focused on completing the Cimmeria campaign setting and turning it into a book.

87 – Adapted Azeroth D&D (Flare and Akridon) Setting the Stage, Campaigns for D&D and Other RPGs

Flare talks with us about his campaign world, Akridon. Three continents dominate the world, Tyros for humanoid races and Dusklands for bestial races. The third continent is known as the Scourge, having being destroyed in a cataclysmic war centuries ago. The world draws a lot of inspiration from the World of Warcraft setup with duality featuring in the continents, the racial appearance, and the gods of the world. And just like in WoW, the two sides often need to team up against larger threats that appear.Flare has a Google Doc with more information about Akridon if you're interested!Vote in the CRIT Awards!
