Cleric Subclass: Entertainment Domain

The Entertainment Domain grants divine magic through song, dance, and performance. Clerics that choose this domain are showboats, always ready to boast, gloat, or perform in front of an attentive audience.

There are many gods of entertainment within the Olympian Pantheon. The Muses are the quintessential entertainment deities as the original goddesses of all arts. Pan and Apollo govern portions of the domain through their connection to music. Dionysus also oversees entertainment through his association with theatrical performances. Each of these deities encourages performances of different kinds, granting their followers the power to entertain and amuse the crowd.

Entertainment Domain Spells
Level 3: Your connection to this divine domain ensures you always have certain spells ready. When you reach a Cleric level specified in the Entertainment Domain Spells table, you thereafter always have the listed spells prepared.

Cleric LevelSpells
3Disguise Self, Enthrall, Fog Cloud, Misty Step
5Hypnotic Pattern, Major Image
7Dimension Door, Fabricate
9Creation, Uplifting Revue (New Spell!)

Focusing Word
Level 3: You intone a limerick, rhyme, short speech, or song that relaxes and focuses an ally. As a Bonus Action, you present your Holy Symbol and expend a use of Channel Divinity to empower another creature that can see and hear you within 45 feet. That creature gains a d4 Focusing Word die. A creature can have only one Focusing Word die at a time.
Once within the next hour when the creature fails a D20 Test, the creature can roll the Focusing Word die and add the number rolled to the d20, potentially turning the failure into a success. A Focusing Word die is expended when it’s rolled.

Talented Performer
Level 3: You gain proficiency in Performance and in one musical instrument of your choice.

Artist’s Freedom
Level 6:
Through poems and songs, people become truly free. As a Bonus Action, you can harness this power and gift it to a creature you can see or hear within 30 feet. If the target is Charmed or Frightened, those conditions end.
After you use this feature, you can’t do so again until you finish a Short or Long Rest.

Improved Focusing Word
Level 6: Your Focusing Word die becomes a d6.

Maestro of the Stage
Level 17:
You have mastered the entertainment arts. You gain the following benefits:

  • Your Focusing Word die becomes a d8.
  • Artist’s Freedom now ends the Blinded, Deafened, Grappled, Paralyzed, and Restrained conditions as well.
  • You can use Artist’s Freedom a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of once). You regain one expended use when you finish a Short Rest, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest.
