Hestia is the youngest daughter of Cronos and Rhea. She fought in the War of the Titans, but did not take an active position in the new order. She is the goddess of the hearth and home and her sacred animal is the domesticated pig. Her role oversees and protects the daily life of all mortals. She is also one of the three virgin goddesses, sworn never to have sex and remain unmoved by Aphrodite and Cupid. Hestia’s passive nature leads to a lack of strong relationships with other gods and specific mortals. Despite this, her domain over normal life gives her a powerful presence in worship of the Pantheon. A devout mortal’s first and last prayer of every day is to Hestia, an honor unknown to the other gods.
