Choose a willing creature within range. A spectral, mindless, Medium shield bearer appears in an unoccupied space adjacent to the target. The shield bearer lasts for the duration. It is an object with 18 AC and 10 HP per spell level. If it drops to 0 Hit Points, the spell ends. The shield bearer doesn’t occupy its space.

When the target moves, the shield bearer moves with it. You can take a Bonus Action to adjust which square adjacent to the target that the shield bearer is in. The shield bearer grants the target Half Cover against attacks and other effects that originate from its space or that pass through it.
